Chinese Hacking Group Targets Global Telecom Networks

The Chinese cyber-espionage group known as Salt Typhoon, or RedMike, continues to infiltrate global telecommunications networks. Despite previous exposures, the group has adapted its tactics, now exploiting vulnerabilities in Cisco routers and switches to gain unauthorized access. Recent reports indicate breaches in at least five telecom companies, including entities in the United States, United Kingdom, South Africa, and Italy. Salt Typhoon’s persistent activities underscore the need for robust cybersecurity measures and the adoption of end-to-end encryption to protect sensitive communications.
